Age 60 passed away at her home in Kalamazoo on March 7, 2020. She was born in Highland Park, the daughter of Courtney and Margaret (Chalmers) Marttila. Nancy was a kind and loving woman. She enjoyed gardening, spending time in nature and was an avid reader. She had a special place in her heart for animals especially dogs. She loved walking her beloved pets, Olive and Rose. Nancy graduated from Western Michigan University with a degree in social work. Throughout her career she made many friends and helped to improve the lives of those around her. Above all Nancy loved her family and leaves them with many wonderful memories to cherish. She is survived by her mother, Peggy; three siblings, Mike (JoAnn) Marttila, Sally Marttila and Tim (Jane) Marttila; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in passing by her father Courtney; two brothers, Lee and Tom Marttila.
