Age 63, died on Wednesday, July 31, 2019. Rick was born in Sault Ste Marie, MI, on May 22, 1956, the son of James and Helen (Bawks) Crisp. On July 11, 1975, he married Brenda Poel who preceded him in death in 2014. Rick loved traveling, attending horse races, cars, and vintage furniture. As a downtown resident of Kalamazoo, he liked meeting people, and just making friends of them. He was kind and generous. His children have special memories of family vacations. His family meant so much to him. His home was filled with things that reminded him of their lives together and the love they shared. More than anything else he loved spending time with his granddaughters. He is survived by his children, Jonathan Crisp of Holland, Thomas (Matheus Almeida) Crisp of Atlanta, GA, Ashleigh (Alex Hobart) Crisp of Kalamazoo; 2 grandchildren, Milena and Colette; siblings, Marcy (Tom) Kauffman of Ionia, Jim Crisp of Lansing, Brian (Sue) Crisp of St. Louis, MO; father in law, Bruce (Sharon Bechtel) Poel of Holland; brother in law, Brian (Julie) Poel of Jenison; as well as extended family members and dear friends. Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and his mother in law.
