A graveside service with full military honors will take place at Fort Custer National Cemetery located at 15501 Dickman Road, Augusta, Michigan on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. Those wishing to attend the committal ceremony are asked to arrive to the cortege area no later than 1:45 P.M. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Southwest Michigan, c/o the funeral home.

Dear Robert Engberts Family: Just recently heard about Bob's passing. I am sorry for your loss. You are in my thoughts and prayers. I was Bob's company commander in the late 1980s and early 1990s at the Kalamazoo Armory. I just want you to know that he was one of the best soldiers that we could have served with. He was a very caring NCO who always took care of the troops. Our food service section was one of the best in the state and Bob was a big part of that achievement. He was so humble and a gentle giant of a man. Thanks for sharing him with our National Guard Family. Brother Bob our fellow comrade RIP.
