Age 84, passed away on Saturday, October 2, 2021. Bob was born in Comstock, Michigan on December 13, 1936, the son of the late Dick and Sadie (VanderZwaag) Bogema. Bob worked as a journeyman plumber and was a volunteer firefighter for the Comstock Township Fire Department from 1963 until 1992. He enjoyed spending time with family, bird watching, fishing, NASCAR, gardening and traveling in his RV. Bob attended New Hope Covenant Church in Richland for many years. On March 13, 1965, Bob married Gwen A. Day, who survives. He is also survived by his daughters, Bonni (Scott) Cunningham and Genevieve (Randy) Mayberry; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; special niece, Cindy Dragicevich and several other nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Bob was preceded in death by several siblings. A memorial service to celebrate his life will take place at New Hope Covenant Church, 9300 E D Ave., Richland, MI 49083, on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Martin Shan officiating. Visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to the service, beginning at 1:00 PM. Private interment will take place at Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial – South. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to New Hope Covenant Church or Kairos Dwelling.
