Sandra Schickele, aged 84, passed away May 2, 2023. Sandy was born in Joplin, MO on April 27, 1939, the daughter of Earl William and Della Leota (Jones) Bacon. Sandy is survived by her son-in-law, Ronald Bissonnette of Kalamazoo; grandchildren, Richard Bissonnette, Caroline Bissonnette, Roland Bissonnette and Angelina Bissonnette; sister, Carol (Thomas) Lyne; two nephews; a niece; and many friends. A fierce advocate for equal rights, and a proponent of education, Sandy received her undergraduate degree and a PhD in economics from the University of Chicago. She later worked at the Federal Reserve Bank, and then as a professor of economics at Sonoma State University in California. Sandy loved travel, music, art, and history, and had lived across Europe and the United States. She enjoyed reading, drinking wine, and discussing everything from horror films to radical politics. Sandra was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter, Laura Bissonnette.
