A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. In the meantime, please celebrate Shirley by going out and creating a memory. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Josh Whitfield Memorial Athletic Fund (jwmaf.org) or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital; two organizations she deeply admired.

I met Shirley 20+ years ago as a student worker in Residence Life. Shirley always know how to make me smile and to somehow give me a complement on being a single mom JUST when I always needed it. She always was everyone's biggest fan. I will always treasure our time metal detecting, especially the time we found a wagon wheel on east campus! Thank you for your mentorship and years of laughter! You will be missed beyond measure.

Shirley, your smile lit up the world. My family and I will make sure your light continues to shine. Thanks for the tardy pass when I probably didn't deserve one. You left a positive mark in this world in so many ways. All our love. Lindsey Tocco and family.

I am so heartbroken. Shirley was my best friend in junior high school. I think I stayed there every Friday night. She Was a beautiful and true friend and I loved her dearly. She was the glue that held the Comstock class of 1974 together. She was a light to us all! She had such a huge impact and touch so many lives and will be truly missed! I love you my friend!

Shirley and Pat were of immeasurable help to us in preparing our dad's house for sale after his passing in 2016. Between them, they knew how to fix or fix up everything. They were so kind to come to our parents' funerals and were truly a huge asset to the Comstock community. My sincerest condolences on losing her too soon.
