Steven J. DeVall, 61, of Kalamazoo, MI, beloved father, brother and grandfather, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 25, 2022. Born and raised in Kalamazoo, Michigan, he was the son of the late Carl and Cornelia “Connie” (Nieboer) DeVall and brother of Connie and Tom DeVall. Steve regularly attended both Calvary Bible Church and Radiant Church. Steve retired from Western Michigan University where he served as a custodian for many years. He adored his family and always made them a priority. Steve enjoyed fishing, ping pong, bowling, and watching as well as playing sports. He is survived by two children, Hannah DeVall of Mattawan, MI and Samuel (Hannah) DeVall of Paw Paw MI; one grandchild, Isaiah DeVall; two siblings, Connie DeVall and Tom (LuAnne) DeVall; one niece, Jennifer (Chad) DeVall and one nephew, Ben (Kara) DeVall. The family will receive friends at Calvary Bible Church, 855 S. Drake Rd., Kalamazoo MI 49009, on Friday, July 1, 2022, beginning at 10:00 AM, followed by a funeral service 11:00 AM. Interment for family and close friends will take place at Mountain Home Cemetery in Kalamazoo. Memorial contributions in Steve’s memory may be made to Calvary Bible Church.
