It's been so long since Steve and I went Deer Hunting together. Steve was a challenge to tech but we finally connected on Steve's 1st Whitetail Deer on another Christian friends property in Almena. I think I was more excited about Steve being blessed with his 1st Deer than he was, or maybe it just seemed that way at that moment, later on is when I finally seen Steve glowing with more joy as he told his "Deer Hunting Story" to his wife Beth and other's as I drove Steve and Beth around in my old 4X4 Chevy. We made a few stops along the way back home so Steve could again tell his story of how God had blessed him with such a beautiful Whitetail Deer to help feed his family with that winter. Time went by and people move in different directions, our friendship faded as we both grew into what God led us both to next. One important thing never changed both our Love for our Father God in Heaven and Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, it never changed and never will, as well both our Love for our beautiful loving children and our sweet loving wives grew on in the new direction that God had planned us both to go in many years ago. Our time as Friends was short but our Brotherly Love for one another never changed, it was just another page in both our lives so many year's ago my friend. I truly miss our time's together on those cold Michigan winter days Deer Hunting together my Friend and Brother in Jesus Christ. I miss hearing your deep voice, your Big Roaring Laugh and mostly your Big Bear Hugs Brother Steve. Again someday soon my Ol'Hunting Buddy we will see each other, walk together, laugh together and tell stories of that Big Buck that slipped past us in the wood's on a warm winter November day as we fell asleep under that Big Old Oak Tree. Your Greatly Missed... May God continue to bring comfort peace healing and strength to Steve's beautiful family each day. Always remember to count your blessings everyday my friends, even when the sky is gray and the evil one tries to take your love and joy away that God has promised to us all freely... May God's loving Holy Spirit continuly guide Steve's beautiful family each day... Your Ol'Deer Hunting Buddy Dustin Sirrine.

My brother in Christ, thanking the Lord for using Steve to sew the seeds, that eventually brought me into asking Jesus Christ into my heart, as my Lord and Savior. In spite of his challenges, Steve always put his faith totally in the Lord, those were his last words to me the last last time I saw him, he said ; I’m ready anytime He wants to take me home! There is no fear in going home to a loving Father. Steve I’m so happy for you! No pain, no suffering, no worries, just total transformation and joy beyond measure. Hard for all of us, and your loving family that are temporarily separated... I have found, because loss is so familiar, that if we focus on the joy that you are experiencing, it helps us to walk through our own grief and sadness. To the entire DeVall family may the Lord continue to give you all His peace and comfort, my prayers are with you all... Steve, I’m proud of you brother! Your boldness for the Lord was, and will continue to be a great example of how our faith needs to be projected to anyone and everyone that we come across.. I will do my best!! R.I.P. my brother.

Sending my condolences to the DuVall family. Steve was such a great guy and a wonderful co-worker at WMU, he was always dancing and singing. He will be greatly missed. RIP my friend.
