July 30, 1954 - December 6, 2021

The family is planning to have a memorial at a later time. Steve will be laid to rest at Ft. Custer National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice, c/o the funeral home.

He's was my grandfather and he was a amazing man who would do anything for his family but he was stubborn too my mom always told me I was like him but I always said no I'm not guess that just proves I am me and him would always butt heads over just about every topic me and him would sit and debate something for hours and I'm happy I had those times with him God bless you papa I'll always love you.

Mom said they had a lovely memorial for you today with the 21 gun salute. I hope you heard it up there. Say hi to Dad, Aunt Linda, & others who've gone before us. From one of your many siblings- Jo, and brother-in-law-Ed. GOD Bless Kathy, & Your other Loved Ones left here on earth.

As most of you know (or maybe not), Steven was born one day before my first birthday. That meant we always shared our celebration and most often it was at our cottage on Townline Lake near Lakeview, MI. Having a summer birthday meant family attended instead of classmates, but we never minded (well maybe when we got a little older. Besides a shared birthday, Steve and I share the fun of being left-handed, along with our mom. I believe I chose to write handed to support Steve, who was VERY left-handed. Back when we were in elementary school at St. Stephen's, in Saginaw, the Nuns (and most educators) thought it was not good to be left-handed in a right-handed world and tried everything to make Steve write and use scissors with his right hand. Didn't work, but caused Steve some unhappiness. Being a 'goody-two-shoes' I promptly taught myself to write with me left hand in a show of solidarity. I am somewhat ambidextrous(sp?) now, but still have never been able to do much cutting with scissors. Thanks Steve 🙂 I fondly think of you when writing something and remembering the fun times we had. I won't share any details, cause I don't want to get you in trouble 'up there', but I know my husband has fond memories of getting into a bit of mischief with you, also. Love you Steve!
